Measuring taxi stands, loading docks, footpath width, etc. isn’t measuring place – but what is? Read more below.
Consistency – Transparency – Value – Trust
Measuring place and the impact of investment is one of the greatest challenges that faces government today – primarily because everyone’s goal is to make their environments better for the people who use them.
With so many competing interests and voices, and with the huge complexity of places themselves, how do you go about prioritising let alone measuring impact?
Since we started Place Score, we have delivered on some very important goals to help government and the property sector:
- Consistency – we have built a methodology that can be utilised across Australia AND where the community’s inputs could be used for more than one project AND all data contributes to national benchmarks.
- Transparency – will we aggregate we don’t ever assume – our process was designed to collect insights directly from the community to be used for influencing decision making and to measure impact – this is qualitative research shared quantitatively to provide you with the confidence to prioritise.
- Value – once you have the data for your area is can be used for multiple years for multiple projects – the investment from your community members is well respected and the whole organisation is using the same baseline.
- Trust – we are building a collaborative cycle of trust where the same data is being used by community, the government and the private sector – communicating outcomes and how the data is being used is key to building relationships where change can occur because people aren’t afraid to discuss what really matters to them.
Working with government and private sector across the country we understand the challenges that are being faced and are constantly working to improve our systems and reporting to meet different project needs. But our principles stay the same.
Have we missed something? Or do you have a challenge that you would like Place Score to solve? We’d love to hear from you!
