Place Score’s Liveability Study data will be an important component of our panel’s deliberations. It has provided valuable insight into what the community values most in their neighbourhood and will help identify priority areas for Council investment. The Liveability Study also has some really rich data that is of benefit to the wider organisation, and all the relevant departments at Council now have access to the online dashboard to mine the data further.
Michelle Devanny, Communications Advisor, City of Kingston
“This type of analysis will be more important than ever as local governments determine how to allocate resources in a post COVID-19 world. Resources will need to be targeted specifically to what will make the most impact for the community in specific areas.”
Jodie Reyntjes, Coordinator Central Geelong Marketing, City of Greater Geelong
Hoping for some opportunities to collaborate in future – Place Score’s work brought such good value to the box hill project and it’d be great to see how it might influence other future projects.
Adeana Khoo, Senior Transport Planner, AECOM
Establishing a baseline measurement has enabled us to respond in a targeted manner and invest in spaces and places that we know will deliver multiple benefits.
Grissel Walmaggia, Place Making Officer, City of Greater Dandenong
I think the question here is – How will we not use the data! The data is now being analysed and used across all our corporate plans, place-making, and other targeted communications. Having access to not only the data but the Liveability Platform makes it incredibly easy to interrogate the data and garner insights about what our community values and cares about in the context of how these things are performing – we can now easily do this by topic, place, demographic and association.
Kristin Davies, Coordinator Social Infrastructure & Open Space Planning, Surf Coast Shire Council
Having a sound measure for public places and streets in activity centres in terms of their overall performance. Place Score data helps us direct the most needed improvements and fund impactful interventions.
Jenny Pemberton-Webb, Place Manager, City of Greater Dandenong
I’m so excited. I wanted to play around with our Liveability Platform all day! Love the functionality and the flexibility of it. There are just so many ways we can interrogate and use the data. I can really see how we people across the organisation will use it for different purposes.
Amber Herrmann, Community Development and Engagement Coordinator, Port Stephens Council
“Place Score data has given us a source of information from a specific group that we can rely on. There is the opportunity to compare the group’s values in the future to see how the place is performing. It has given us a point it time perspective of how people experience the place – something that can be remeasured.”
Peter Kauter, Manager Placemaking, Woollahra Municipal Council
“Place Score data has provided measurable and comparable place data that highlights what the community values. This enables us to use the data as an evidence base to ensure designs and strategies focus on these highly held values.”
Tara McGready, Manager Strategic Planning, Ballina Shire Council
